Delete Your Data — Mona

Mona is developed by Arunachalam P / Skynite ("the Developer"). This page explains how to delete the data Mona holds. Contact: arunachalam.skynite@gmail.com.

Mona has no backend server. Your data lives in two places only: on your device, and — if you chose to sign in and sync — in your own Google Drive account, inside an app-created folder. The Developer holds no copy of your data and cannot access it. Deleting your data is therefore something you do yourself, from inside the app, and it takes effect immediately.

Option 1 — Delete specific data from inside the app

Mona has a Danger zone in Settings that permanently deletes data from both this device and your Google Drive. There is no undo.

Open Mona.
Go to Settings → scroll to Danger zone.
Choose what to delete: Vault documents, Expenses, Journal entries, Recipes, Subscriptions, or Family tasks.
Confirm twice when prompted. Each action deletes every item of that type, including the copies stored in Google Drive.

Related in-app deletions:

Payment history — Settings → Payments → Clear payment history (removes locally stored UPI payment intents).
Connected mailbox — Settings → Subscriptions → disconnect the account. This removes the downloaded email headers and deletes the IMAP app password from your device keychain.
Google Drive link — Settings → Drive accounts → Unlink. This disconnects Mona from your Drive account.

Option 2 — Delete everything

Run each Danger zone action listed above to remove your synced data from Google Drive.
Unlink your Google account in Settings → Drive accounts.
Uninstall Mona. This removes the entire local database, all cached files, and all credentials held in the device keychain.
Optionally, revoke Mona's access to your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

If you unlinked or uninstalled before clearing your Drive data, the app folder may remain in your Drive. You can delete it directly at drive.google.com — look for the folders named Mona and Mona - Family — and then empty your Drive trash.

Option 3 — Request deletion by email

You may email arunachalam.skynite@gmail.com with the subject line "Mona — data deletion request" at any time. We will respond within 30 days with guidance. Note that because the Developer operates no server and holds no copy of your content, we cannot delete your data on your behalf — deletion must be carried out from your device and your own Google Drive account, as described above.

What is deleted, and what is kept

Additional retention period

The Developer applies no additional retention period, because the Developer stores no user data. Deletions you perform in the app are immediate on your device. Data deleted from Google Drive follows Google's own trash and backup behaviour — items typically remain in your Drive trash for up to 30 days until you empty it, and Google may retain backups for a limited period under its own policies.
