Mona is developed by Arunachalam P / Skynite ("the Developer"). This page explains how to delete the data Mona holds. Contact: arunachalam.skynite@gmail.com.
Mona has no backend server. Your data lives in two places only: on your device, and — if you chose to sign in and sync — in your own Google Drive account, inside an app-created folder. The Developer holds no copy of your data and cannot access it. Deleting your data is therefore something you do yourself, from inside the app, and it takes effect immediately.
Mona has a Danger zone in Settings that permanently deletes data from both this device and your Google Drive. There is no undo.
Related in-app deletions:
If you unlinked or uninstalled before clearing your Drive data, the app folder may remain in your Drive. You can delete it directly at drive.google.com — look for the folders named Mona and Mona - Family — and then empty your Drive trash.
You may email arunachalam.skynite@gmail.com with the subject line "Mona — data deletion request" at any time. We will respond within 30 days with guidance. Note that because the Developer operates no server and holds no copy of your content, we cannot delete your data on your behalf — deletion must be carried out from your device and your own Google Drive account, as described above.
| Data | What happens | Retention |
|---|---|---|
| Vault documents, expenses, income, wealth, journal entries, recipes, subscriptions, family tasks, trip photos and videos, health records, voice notes | Deleted from the device and from your Google Drive when you use the matching Danger zone action; all local copies are removed on uninstall | None retained by the Developer at any point |
| Google account email and user ID | Held in device secure storage; removed when you unlink your account or uninstall. Household member email addresses are removed when the household manifest is deleted from your Drive | None retained by the Developer |
| IMAP email app password | Deleted from the device keychain when you disconnect the mailbox or uninstall. Never transmitted to the Developer | None retained by the Developer |
| SMS message content | Parsed on-device only and never stored or transmitted. Expenses derived from SMS are deleted with the Expenses action | Not stored |
| Images and text sent to Google Cloud Vision / Cloud Translation (Camera Translate only) | Processed by Google to return a translation and not retained by the Developer | Governed by Google Cloud's data terms |
| Google Play purchase record (Mona Premium) | Held by Google Play, not by the Developer. It is kept after you delete your data so that a reinstall restores your purchase | Retained by Google Play under Google's policies; manage it in the Play Store app |
| Data shared with your household | If you invited family members, content in the shared Drive folder is deleted when you delete it as the owner. Copies other members downloaded to their own devices are under their control | None retained by the Developer |
The Developer applies no additional retention period, because the Developer stores no user data. Deletions you perform in the app are immediate on your device. Data deleted from Google Drive follows Google's own trash and backup behaviour — items typically remain in your Drive trash for up to 30 days until you empty it, and Google may retain backups for a limited period under its own policies.
